Philosophy/Mission: Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, no-kill organization dedicated to creating a better future for pit bull terrier like dogs in Portland, Oregon. We strive to educate the community about the importance of treating all dogs as individuals. We also aim to eliminate prejudices created through misinformation and sensationalized stories. We work to instill responsible pet guardianship amongst all dog owners in the community. BAPBR partners with overcrowded local shelters to create room for more dogs in need by placing shelter dogs into our foster home network while they await their “forever home.”
Claim to Fame/Signature Product or Service: We pride ourselves on making great pairings between people and dogs. Our adoption program provides comprehensive resources for our fosters and their new families. We provide lifetime post-adoption support, including private training sessions, continued education resources, advice, and regular follow-up.
Community Involvement, Special Notes: Through our “Snip Your Pit” Program, we reach out to the community and provide spay and neuter services, plus vaccinations, for free. It’s our way of giving back to those who love pit bull dogs as much as we do!
