  • Google Calendar ICS

Oregon State University’s Pet Day Celebration for 2018 is
slated for Saturday, May 4th from 10AM – 3PM.

This year, Pet Day will be located at 30th & Washington just west of the Merritt Truax Indoor Center on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis. As usual, Greyhound Pet Adoption – Northwest will have a booth, along with some greyt adoptable Greyhounds. The event is free, though some activities (pony rides, dog wash) will have a nominal fee. Pet Day is a family-oriented, pet-friendly event where the public can meet and interact with a variety of animal interest groups.  Activities include agility demonstrations, fun run/walk (with or without your pet), games, food, demonstrations, llamas, goats, ponies and dogs, dogs, dogs!

Last year nearly 3,000 folks attended, so this is a greyt chance to educate folks about the joys of life with a Greyhound, as well as a chance to show off your pooch! Yes, leashed dogs are welcome throughout the grounds, though they are not allowed at the indoor exhibits.

Furball: Caturday Night Fever

This is a fundraiser for the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon

Get ready to boogie for the cats!

You can be a part of this fun, 70's-themed event and turn good vibes into fab funding for spaying/neutering feral, stray, and pet cats! This Furball will feature live and silent auctions with art, getaways, awesome items for cats, and more. Of course there will be some dancing under the disco ball and we'll have a special dance performance by The Viscount Dance Studio. So try on your best polyester suit, crank up the Bee Gees on your 8-track player, and get ready for Caturday Night Fever!

Matt Zaffino, Chief Meteorologist at KGW-TV and one of the coolest cats we know, is back as our Emcee. Our Honorary Chair is Russ Rosner, a feral cat caregiver and part of the Sokol Blosser Winery family. We can dig it.

Here's the skinny: the Furball often sells out. Get your seats now! Prices range from $100/ individual ticket to $1,500 for a table for you and 9 friends with special treats!

Kitten Shower at Santiam Brewing for Willamette Humane

Kitten season is coming! Help us prepare with a very special Kitten Shower at Santiam Brewing. We'll have small kittens for you to cuddle for a suggested $5 donation. Santiam will donate $1 for every pint poured, too.

This fundraiser helps us prepare to care for all of the tiny ones coming our way, and we hope to see you there!

Here are two special things to know about this event:
* Our kittens are too small to be adopted, so you won't be able to take them home with you.
* Kids are welcome at Santiam, but if you're hoping for a more kid-friendly event with games and prizes and fun things for small people, come to our in-shelter event on April 13th!

Volunteer Animal Caretaker Orientation at Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary

Want to be more involved with Lighthouse? Join us for our first Volunteer Animal Caretaker Orientation of the year! This hour-long orientation will get you acquainted with the sanctuary and what the expectations are for this volunteer position. Afterward, we will be scheduling training sessions for those interested.

MORE ABOUT THE POSITION: We are looking to grow our weekly volunteer staff to better serve the almost 300 animals that we care for. In this position, you will work closely with the animals - making sure their living areas are clean and safe and providing simple routine medical care (which you will be trained for) and general maintenance to ensure that the sanctuary is well maintained. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about how to care for animals. You must be motivated, able to work independently, able to lift 50+ pounds on an ongoing basis, and able to commit to 3-5 hours a week between Monday and Thursday on a consistent schedule. More detailed information will be presented at the orientation.

Lighthouse is an all-volunteer non-profit with no paid staff. We depend on volunteers to keep the sanctuary operating. Come join the largest and oldest sanctuary in the state and help us rescue more animals in need!
