We had a blast meeting all the pooches and peeps at Spot's 5th annual Cover Model Search in Portland at Doggie Palooza in October. Petober, a fundraiser for Greenhill Humane Society is held every October. This year, Bruce Berg of Bruce Berg Photography took these beautiful photos of all the participants featured here. The winners were chosen by folks picking their favorite at a $1 a vote at the shelter. The grand prize winner was Chloe at 52 votes.

Pets and their people entered Spot's Cover Model Search for the Willamette Valley at events all last spring and summer. Winner, Angelique (randomly drawn), graces the October, 2012 cover. All the beauties who entered are featured here.
Sunshine, wet dogs, happy peeps, lively music, food and suds...Dogtoberfest, Portland's biggest dog wash was a huge success! More than $16,000 was raised and 473 dogs were washed during this favorite annual event which raises funds for the DoveLewis Blood Bank.

The wonderful thing about Westies is Westies are wonderful pups. They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pounchy...fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN! And hard to snap pictures of! Over 200 of these constantly in motion little white pooches (and some of their friends) showed up for a beautiful morning visit and walk in the park to benefit the DoveLewis Velvet Assistance Fund.
Celebrating our 4-legged friends and supporting local rescue organization, Must Love Dogs NW, the 2nd Annual For the Love of Dogs - Day in the Park was the perfect dog day of summer in beautiful Esther Short park. The dogs, the people, the music, the food, the atmosphere, it was like a mini-vacation day of fun! Beautiful blue sky morning for Run for the Love of Dove 5k run event! 724 humans registered for the race and more than 200 dogs hits the streets of NW Portland in support of the DoveLewis Stray Animal & Wildlife Program. This is among one of Spot’s favorite events with excitement in the air and happy vibes everywhere!
A little cool, a little grey, a little wet but a whole lot of fun. Spot had a blast meeting the super friendly people of Washougal at the 4th Annual Hike at the Dike event to raise money for the dogs and cats that need homes and care at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society. Over 1,000 people accompanied by several hundred pugs (& friends) celebrated the Pug Crawl on the streets outside MacTarnahan's Taproom in Northwest Portland. The event raised approximately $7,500 for the pets at Oregon Humane Society. With it being an election year, this year's theme was "A Better Pug for a Better America". Because the weather was slightly rainy, none of the pugs would sit on the wet ground for a photo moment but Spot was able to capture some adorable pug mugs that stopped by the booth to say Hi!
Absolutely gorgeous weather for downtown Portland's biggest party...for the dogs. We don't have the exact numbers at this time but it's estimated there were over 4,000 happy pooches walking and running to support the Oregon Humane Society. It was busy, busy, busy at the Spot booth but we had a lot of fun meeting old friends and making new...both 2 and 4 legged!

The Walk for the Animals benefiting the Humane Society for Southwest Washington was a great event to kick off the 2012 pet event season! A bunch of folks and their animals came out to share the morning including a smooching pooch, boogie board bassets, a couple cat sightings, a miniature horse, a soccer playing pup and a ferret that loves Spot. Plus, it didn't rain and who doesn't love that!
We asked to see pets livin’ the dream or simply just pictures of your dreamboat! Playing, sleeping, enjoying life – pictures that best captured your pet’s charm.
The winner with the most votes was Branka, a Neapolitan Mastiff on her 1st birthday with her favorite toy. Branka's dreamy prize was a cushy new be, gear and toys, courtesy of our friends at Bi-Mart and our wonderful friends at Salty's.
We asked fans to Show Us The Love by sending in photos of their beloveds and win a sweet prize!
Winners by votes on Facebook were the two lovebugs, Tux & Kenzie. Random choice winner was the 3-kitty trio of Holstein, Aries & Gemini. Congrats to the winners and all the sweethearts who entered!

What a spectacular event to cap off the 2011 pet event season...and raise money for DOGPAW (Dog Owners Group for Park Access in Washington) at the same time! Crisp fall weather, happy dogs frolicking free, sweet music filling the air, zany-fun contests, and hanging with friendly peeps in the 'Couv, it was simply a perfect autumn afternoon.
Always a great event for dog peeps! Spot held the Annual Cover Model Search for the Portland area at the event and 101 pups showed up for their time in the spotlight. The Spot crew was hard at work (hence not a lot of photos here) but the winner of the day was our photographer, David Childs. His shots were fantastic along with his patience and tireless work ethic.
Readers have been sending in photos of their "babies" enjoying the weekends throughout the year.
