Furry Friends is asking for your support on Thursday, September 21, during the Give More 24! online fundraising challenge hosted by the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The nonprofit, an all-volunteer cat adoption organization in Vancouver, WA, is looking to raise funds to cover the extraordinary medical expenses of cats in their care. These costs include veterinary bills for emergency surgeries, as well as ongoing treatments and lifelong medications. As a 501(C)(3) no-kill organization, Furry Friends is committed to providing the best possible medical care to the cats they rescue before placing them in their “furever” homes.

Your donation on September 21 will boost your donation to Furry Friends on that day. For example, if Furry Friends receives 3% of the total raised on September 21, it will also receive 3% of the $30,000 stretch pool. In addition, supporters can start planning on how to help the organization win up to $15,000 in prizes by logging onto the Give More 24! Website at https://give-more-24.org/prizes. And to top it off, Furry Friends will receive matching funds of up to $2,000, thanks to Julie Baldino of Front Door Realty.

Every tax-deductible donation made to Furry Friends through Give More 24! will help Furry Friends cover the extraordinary medical bills of cats like Dash and Nova. Dash is a naturally happy, friendly four-year-old Russian Blue that likes to hop onto the back of anyone daring to bend over in his company. A volunteer favorite, he loves attention, and if he had his way, he would sit on your lap all day. But due to painful and chronic oral disease, he has become sad and lethargic and spends the majority of his days sleeping. Your support will help cover the more than $2,200 in medical treatment that he needs for this painful issue. Nova is a beautiful all white cat with one blue eye and one yellow eye that came to Furry Friends with severe dental disease. His oral treatment alone was more than $2,580, but it was worth it to once again see him climbing his way to his comfy window-sill bed.
