This week Jennifer talks about fun holiday pet activities including adoptables available from Oregon Humane Society at the Expo Center Xmas Bazaar this weekend, the Santa Claws and Kitty Paws Cat show at the Lloyd Center Doubletree which doubles as a benefit for Cat Adoption Team, Santa Claus pet photos at PetSmart locations in Washington Square and Tualatin, The Hip Hound in NW Portland is also running a Santa Paws photo fundraiser as is InBark Dog Park in Tigard and Western Pet Supply. If you are looking for a pup to take photos with, Pacific Pug Rescue will have adoptables available at the Splendor Craft Sale in SE Portland.
On Sunday the Rabbit Advocates will be at the Tigard PetCo location. Also on Sunday, DoveLewis is offering their free Memorial Art Therapy Workshop to people to create mementos for pets who have passed.
On Monday night, one of the more special pet events of the year takes place at The Old Church in Portland — the Service of Remembrance, an annual celebration of the human-animal bond. The service includes a candle-lighting ceremony dedicated to friends who are no longer with us and offers a place to remember and grieve among friends. This event is sponsored by our friends at Dignified Pet Services.
On Wednesday it’s Waggy Hour at Lexi Dog on Macadam with local wine, beer and food available along with adoptables from Oregon Humane.
Finally, Jennifer talks about the kick-off of Spot’s food drive for Pongo Fund, with 23 organizations and businesses participating, including Beaverton Toyota and Sunset Science Park Credit Union.
