Spot Magazine’s Editor and Publisher Jennifer McCammon gives the Furry Fun Planner Report, sponsored by Good Neighbor Vet, live every Thursday evening at 6:05 on KPSU Radio’s Fathers, Mothers and Families show with Jim Whinston. Listen to the broadcast at 98.1 FM or online at KPSU.org.
With the Thanksgiving holiday right around the corner, the event calendar is a little lighter than usual, but there’s plenty to keep pets and their people busy this weekend and into next week.
For those who are looking to become a volunteer hero, Multnomah County Animal Services has their volunteer orientation event this Friday evening. Across the river on Saturday, it’s the Silver Bells Christmas Bazaar, a benefit for West Columbia Gorge Humane. In downtown Portland there is a Puppy Social Hour happening for the little pups at Dogstar Dog Daycare (oh, and wine for the humans!).
On Sunday, the Pongo Fund Pet Food Bank will be open, and there is another Bully Walk taking place in downtown Portland. Next week, Balanced Pets NW is offering an Intro to Food Therapy Class; and on Thanksgiving morning up at the Oregon Zoo, it’s the annual Turkey Trot to benefit their Animal Care Program.
As always, you can learn more about these and other happenings on our events page at SpotMagazine.net! And remember, Good Neighbor Vet offers regular Protect Your Pet clinics throughout the area to make sure your animal companion stays healthy and fit!
