The Good Neighbor Vet Furry Fun Planner for June 12

Spot Magazine’s Editor and Publisher Jennifer McCammon gives the Furry Fun Planner Report, sponsored by Good Neighbor Vet, live every Thursday evening at 6:05 on KPSU Radio’s Fathers, Mothers and Families show with Jim Whinston.  Listen to the broadcast at 98.1 FM or online at KPSU.org.

Summer time is always chock full of activities for pets and their people, and this weekend is no exception! Jennifer kicks off the report with two Protect Your Pet Clinics happening on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Good Neighbor Vet at the Humane Society for SW Washington and Multnomah County Animal Services, respectively. When you license your pets you can get free rabies vaccines and an exam!

Jennifer mentions three festive events along the I-5 corridor, including the Willamutt Strut in Salem, Paws in the Park in Albany and Bark for Life in Vancouver and continues with an unusual event for the calendar, a Princess & The Pooch photo shoot at the Pawfee Shop in Portland, where a photographer will have costumes and a green screen available to transport your pets to a magical world. Over in NE Portland, as part of the Laurelhurst Community Garage Sale, the Kitty House of Dreams will be putting on their annual used book and bake sale, and at Meat For Cats and Dogs, Born Again Pit Bull Rescue will be on hand for their weekend meet and greet.

We’re still rolling! At the Gardner School in Vancouver, Cecelia Towner of Trusting the Heart will be offering a Dog Relationship Dynamics workshop, over in Dundee, Oregon Dog Rescue will have their annual Father’s Day Paws for Pinot event and at the Beaverton Farmers Market it’s Furry Friends Day!

Jennifer finishes up this dizzying array of events with a Circle the Date for June 25 when Portland’s first dog-themed gym, the Zoom Room, opens in the Pearl.
