Good Neighbor Vet Furry Fun Planner for August 8 2014

Spot Magazine’s Editor and Publisher Jennifer McCammon gives the Furry Fun Planner Report, sponsored by Good Neighbor Vet, live every Thursday evening at 6:05 on KPSU Radio’s Fathers, Mothers and Families show with Jim Whinston.  Listen to the broadcast at 98.1 FM or online at KPSU.org.

Wrapping up summer fun this weekend, and a very special Spot event highlight the Good Neighbor Vet Furry Fun Planner Report!

First off, we have two Protect Your Pet Clinics, offered by Good Neighbor Vet, at the Humane Society of SW Washington and Multnomah County Animal Services. Come in and license your pet and you can receive a free rabies vaccination and exam!

Benefit-wise, enjoy wine tasting and benefit Oregon Humane Society by taking the Canines Uncorked Wine Tour. Over on Sauvie Island Cascade Beagle Rescue has their BeaglePalooza La Fiesta and at Unleashed by Petco in Raleigh Hills you can get your pup scrubbed up to benefit the Project Pooch program. Also in the fundraising frame it’s Quirks and Collars at Wine Thirty to help the folks at Fences For Fido.

Rabbit Advocates are hoping you find Some Bunny to Love at the PetCo in Tigard this weekend, where people will  be on hand to talk about rabbit adoption and nail trims and grooming to bunnies. And on Monday, DoveLewis offers their Memorial Art Therapy Workshop to help folks create mementos for animal companions who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

This Sunday, a special event for us here at Spot Magazine, it’s our Cover Model Search and Summer Social to commemorate our 100th issue and 9th year of publishing. There will be vendors, live music, a beer garden and lots of fun folks and friends to meet and greet. It’s all happening at The Grove at Oaks Park from 10 to 2pm and we would love to see you there and thank you for helping to support Spot through the years. We will also be raising funds for Born Again Pit Bull Rescue and Deaf Dogs of Oregon. We can’t wait to see you there!

You can learn more about these and other happenings on our events page at SpotMagazine.net!
