Good Neighbor Vet Furry Fun Planner for Sept 11 2014

Spot Magazine’s Editor and Publisher Jennifer McCammon gives the Furry Fun Planner Report, sponsored by Good Neighbor Vet, live every Thursday evening at 6:05 on KPSU Radio’s Fathers, Mothers and Families show with Jim Whinston.  Listen to the broadcast at 98.1 FM or online at KPSU.org.

Heading into fall, there’s plenty on the calendar for pets and their people and Jennifer starts the show off by mentioning two Protect Your Pet clinics happening over the weekend, offered by Good Neighbor Vet.  Bring your pet to either the Humane Society of SW Washington or Multnomah County Animal Services during clinic hours for licensing and receive free rabies vaccines and exams!

Lots of adoption events happening starting with a speed date event with some beautiful retired racing Greyhounds at Sniff Dog Hotel.  If you’re looking for Some Bunny to Love, why not head over to the PetCo in Tigard and meet some lovely adoptable rabbits and meet their Rabbit Advocates who will talk about the beauty and benefits of adopting these sweet beings.

For the event set, you can stay busy all weekend long. First up, it has become one of the biggest events of the year, Strut Your Mutt, happening at Sellwood’s Riverfront Park.  Over at the University of Portland, you can check out the DogFest Walk and Roll, a benefit for Canine Companions for Independence.  And if motorcycles and good eating are more your speed, you can participate in the 8th Annual Hogs for Dogs Motorcycle Ride, a benefit for Oregon Humane.

Also going on is a Puppy Romp class at OHS, The Pongo Fund is open for business on Sunday and a Memorial Art Therapy workshop is taking place at DoveLewis.

So much going on! You can learn more about these and other happenings on our events page at SpotMagazine.net!
